After all the great feedback about Aarti Party’s first episode, I have decided to review all of them! The fourth episode “Chai Paarti!” is my favorite one so far. Samosas are traditional chai time snacks. Aarti puts her own unusual twist on them. Instead of the usual deep fried version, she prepares baked samosas. On the show she uses puff pastry for an easier version but provides the homemade pastry recipe on the Food Network website. Check it out here: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/aarti-sequeira/baked-samosas-with-mint-chutney-recipe/index.html Another unusual thing about her samosas is the chipotle sauce. Though a bit different and unusual Aarti’s Baked Samosas with Mint Chutney are worth a try!
My favorite is the traditional Coconut Toffee. It is known throughout India with different names. I love that Aarti shares the authentic version of this coconut candy rather than putting an unusual twist on it as she does with many of her dishes. It’s actually a simple snack to make and also delicious and popular. It’s definitely worth trying.
Last, but not least, Aarti also prepares her favorite version of masala chai.
