Faux Wedding Jewelry

Monday, January 31st, 2011

First of all, since faux is just a fancy word for fake it makes something sound better. Such as faux leather or faux fur. Anytime the word fake is replaced with faux it somehow makes it okay. If this post was titled fake wedding jewelry most people would frown upon reading the title right away but faux has something about it that makes it better. Perhaps things that are elegant or fashionable are linked to it.

Anyway, how do you feel about faux or fake wedding jewelry? Personally, I hate anything fake. Especially fake jewelry. Whether you call it faux or fake it’s all the same to me. It’s unreal and doesn’t have the same substance as the authentic stuff.

However, you will be surprised to know how more and more brides are choosing fake jewelry to match their wedding outfit. I am trying to understand the reasoning behind it. Maybe because the price of gold is too high and people can’t afford it…no I don’t think that’s it. Maybe they want a heavy set that they couldn’t possibly afford to have made in 22 carat…could be. The final reason could just be that they want to match perfectly and found a better set in fake. Maybe they don’t really care if it’s real or not and perhaps they just don’t want to spend as much.

Take for example, if your outfit has silver embroidery then all the wedding gold you got won’t go with it. Since no one wears silver and diamonds are the best choice you might be highly likely to go with a faux necklace as diamonds can’t be every woman’s friend!
