Start with these templates and you’ll be headed in the right direction. If you’re using an Indian printer they will be able to present you with some more wording ideas. Remember, the invitation wording will greatly depend on the style of your event. The invitation will let your guests know how formal or informal your wedding is. Think of your invitation as a “sneak-peek” into your wedding. If your wedding card has a picture of a bride sitting in a doli, then that’s exactly what your guests will expect! Don’t send out traditional cards for a contemporary wedding or vice versa. This is just tacky. Remember, phrases like “no boxed gift” or any kind of mention of gifts on the wedding invitation itself is just inappropriate. Instead, if you really don’t want “boxed gifts” then have someone other than yourself and your fiance, such as a family member inform your guests. It is acceptable to mention the type of attire on the invite itself. In fact, we recommend you do so if you don’t want guests over or under dressed at your wedding! Just think, how many weddings have you been to wear if it was yours you would have been embarrassed of your guests sense of style. Avoid all these possibilities by following proper wedding etiquette and setting the right mood for that upcoming big day. Not only is the invitation essential in setting a preview for your guests but it will be something you will cherish for many years to come!
